Stuff
I just ate 3 cookies! This is my problem on Tuesdays, I come home from work and then wait an hour or more for Carolyn, so we can go get dinner. Problem is, I'm famished when I get home. Thus, dessert usually happens first!
Drew's car situation is dire. To make it legal, there would have to be repairs done that are likely more then the car is worth. And there's 3 weeks until we move in together, whereupon this isn't so much of an issue. Then, he'll be right down the street from VCU, where he both goes to school and works. Now, he lives in Henrico, which is a 10-15 minute drive to VCU. He could just hole up at my place were it not for his feline friends. I could take said feline friends in at my place were it not for the fact that my apartment is still being shown for renting. BTW, if you know anyone who needs a 1 bedroom, send them my way. So I'll likely be driving Drew around for a bit. He is contemplating a moped, but then I was direly warned away from mopeds at work by those who feel they are very unsafe. I'm rather unknowledgeable in the area, unfortunately.
So! I finished reading (listening to) The Known World by Edward P Jones. It's primarily about a black slaveowner, who's father freed himself, then his wife, then said son from slavery awhile before, and about his wife and the slaves they own and the initial white slaveowner and various kids and a bunch of other people, all taking place in Virginia. It was a very good and involving read (listen), and really really sad at times. The characters are all fictional, along with some of the facts made up, the latter of which is kinda frustrating, such as when they're talking about a major street in Richmond that I've never heard of. Other then that, though, it was really good.
Drew and I have officially made a deposit on the apartment, and will be moving Saturday, March 29th. If anyone wants to help us move, I would love the assistance! I will furnish pizza and beverages afterwards!
By the way, if I were serving in Irag right now, I'd want to hang out with these guys all the time!
