Turkeytastic!
Last night I finally attempted cooking the boneless Butterball turkey thing I got a little while back. First off, I hadn't noticed the 'up to 20% of a salt solution' part on it. Lo and behold, it was indeed salty. Better then sliced deli meat, but still not as good as Thanksgiving turkey. It also came tied up in a netted bag, as it was trying to resemble an actual (mini) turkey shape. None of that for me! I ripped the bag up, and just laid the turkey chunks out to cook, so it took 1/2 as long. It also came with a 'gravy packet' to make your own gravy. It was more like a bag of preexisting salty gravy that you added a little bit of the leftover turkey juices to. I mean, it was still good, being gravy and all, but definitely oversalty. Next time methinks I need to look for turkey that is not injected with strange things, as I am rather sensitive to salt these days and prefer things that do not have so much salt in them.
