I did not get things done that I had thought of getting done this weekend. But that is ok, because this weekend was fun and relaxing and all sorts of other things. This mostly involved having a Civ lan party with Drew's sister Julie and her fiance Doug, as well as watching alot of Office. Speaking of which, I wonder how hard it would be to make an Office-based rpg?

There was another attempt to make red curry. This was much better, it turned into an actual sauce! However, not enough red curry paste in it, and the leftovers somehow became rather bland. Also, made it with some 'crispy tofu' that was really just hot dog consistency tofu. I'm gonna stop working with tofu for awhile, actually. I'm so far capable of only making tofu mediocre, and that's just not all that good.

I sent an email to Best Buy regarding the nonworking Clearwire modem I got from the Ebay guy, and that's about all I can do. I've just accepted that I got screwed and am moving on.

I sucked it up and got a Clearwire account with new modem. The experience was a bit displacing. I go in to Best Buy to buy the modem, and apparently you don't just get the modem, they sign you up there and everything, which was weird as I just expected to buy the modem and set the account up myself. But it matters not, I suppose. It's weird to be sold things by people that are paid on commission. They seem less like real people. It's also weird to go to stores and see people 8+ years younger then you selling you modems. I mean, would he even remember a time when people weren't on the internet? And then, with all of this in my head on the drive home, I'm listening to the radio where Myspace is casually being talked about in a related news story, and I'm thinking about how it wasn't that long ago when talking about anything on the internet in the media (radio, tv or whathaveyou) was a complete anomality. Ah, passing of time. In other news, the Clearwire modem seems to work just fine, I am pleased, and look forward to cancelling my Verizon account tomorrow, the bastards.

In other news, what's up with this ad for anti-wrinkle something or another I saw in some magazine, where it's all like 'parentheses don't belong on your face'. Since apparently those lines you get from smiling a lot are 'parentheses'. BS! See, if you are aging and don't have those 'parentheses' (or crow's feet, for that matter), it means you haven't spend very much of your life smiling. Happy people get those sorts of lines! You are supposed to get them, otherwise you are a freakish plastic person with no good emotion! If you've really got to market some anti-wrinkle cream, at least market it for furrowed brow lines or something.

I made some salmon the other day, here's a picture!

Salmon meal!

The salmon got doused with rosemary as well as lemon. The rice is just plain jasmine rice, but I dumped this rice seasoning from Tan-A all over it. It's called Yasai Fumi Furikake and it's in the aisle with all of the sushi-related stuff. I've had the shrimp one, which is decent, and a fish one, which is disgusting. This one, however, is all vegetable, and is really really good, and I highly recommend it.
