Carolyn and I witnessed the joy that is VNV live last night. It's my 3rd time, and was a beautiful thing. I'm starting to appreciate songs from Matter & Form more, I'll have to give them a bit more listen. Still need to break in the most recent album as well. And One also played, which was fun.
I actually haven't been listening to all that much VNV in the past while, and the concert reminded me of how much I really liked them. I'd held associations with listening to them and being with John, I more or less considering them our band, and 'Beloved' to be our song. I thought he'd shared this feeling, but this was proven wrong when I discovered that he played Beloved at his wedding. This had definitely irked me at the time. They played that as their last song, I was able to enjoy it thoroughly and leave the emotional baggage it had carried up until then at the curb. This is a good thing.
I am also reminded again that I really want a synth. I used to love playing on keyboard and pianos, and I'd love to have the chance to continue that, with some experimentation with whatever adventures my computer and I could have with that as well.
Also, I've decided that every man needs a good suit.
